Locum Consultant Paediatric Neuroradiologist

LOCUM CONSULTANT PAEDIATRIC NEURORADIOLOGIST

Applications are invited for a 10 PA Consultant post in diagnostic imaging, based at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust to join a team of 4 other Paediatric Neuroradiologists.

This Trust provides a comprehensive Paediatric Imaging service incorporating all Paediatric subspecialities.

Applicants should be well versed in diagnostic Paediatric Neuroradiology techniques. This is a Fixed Term position to cover service requirements and will be for an initial period of 6 months.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of 5.0 WTE Neuroradiologists in providing the diagnostic neuroimaging service for this Trust. This will include participation in teaching, audit and research and participation in the on-call rota is required.

All applicants must either be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Radiology or be within six months of obtaining their CCST/CCT Award by date of interview.

Position in Neuroradiology in Toulouse, France

The Department of Neuroradiology of the University Hospital of Toulouse, France, offers a 1- or 2-year junior staff position, starting November 1rst 2017. Toulouse University Hospital has been ranked in the first 3 places nation-wide for several consecutive years, especially because of its’ active stroke center. Our busy division of Neuroradiology supplies services to two hospitals and three remote imaging centers. Candidates would be interested in the entire field of diagnostic Neuroradiology. The future physician will have to practice fully in a daily clinical activity based on CT & MRI, and will also participate in the training program in terms of teaching to the residents. The successful candidate will belong to a large team gathering 12 full-time neuroradiologists covering pediatric, adult and interventional neuroradiology, as well as 8 residents.

French language should be fluent for practice, with at least a B1 level. Candidates would have validated European Union diplomas of both Medicine and Radiology.

We are seeking a European-board certified Interventional Neuroradiologist to join our leading tertiary care regional center at the university hospitals of Saint-Etienne, France. With its 1919 beds, more than 700 doctors and 4000 employees, the university hospital of Saint Etienne is a leader in the region of Rhone-Alpes. Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be Board-certified in Radiology, Neurology or Neurosurgery in one of the European countries. She/he must have an experience of at least two years, full time, in a university neuro-interventional department.

The post requires that the candidate:

- Has full capacity and knowledge regarding neurovascular diseases

- Is capable to perform cerebral diagnostic angiography and mechanical thrombectomies.

- If not yet capable, candidate must be willing to have a full intense training to be capable of treating all neurovascular diseases independently.

- Willing and able to work in a team with good communication skills with colleagues in different specialties and patients / families.

- Willing and able to participate in research projects and publications and to participate actively in educational training organized by our department for residents and physicians all over the region.

- Willing to engage in a long term career and project.

- Has moderate knowledge of French language (spoken and written) with the possibility to advance on-site during the first year.

Position Type:
Full time neuroradiologist; Interventional and vascular diagnostic neuroradiology for the follow up of our treated patients.

Contract type: contractual for the first period, renewed automatically and for a maximum period of 2 years during which the recruited physicians must pass the basic national interview to have a permanent post in France. He will be granted our support which is a must to obtain such permanent post.

The town

Clermont-Ferrand is the capital of the Auvergne area in central France.

It has been part of the greater administrative region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes since 2015.

The city has 300,000 inhabitants and is a vibrant university town which offers numerous cultural and sports activities.

The hospital serves a population of 1,000,000 people.

The hospital

It is spread over 2 main sites and has around 2,000 beds.

It is a University Hospital covering all major specialities.

The South C.H.U. includes all the « head and neck » specialities : Neurology, Neurosurgery, ENT, Ophtalmology, Neuroradiology, Neurological I T U and Stroke centre 24/24.

The Neuroradiology Department

The Neuroradiology team currently consists of 3 senior doctors, 2 fellows et 5 residents.

It is located in the Gabriel Montpied Hospital ,next to the University Medical School.

The department is equipped with a biplane angiography suite (Philips Alura Clarity 2014, all options), a GE scanner of the latest generation (installation planned in June 2017), a 1.5T MRI(Siemens Aera 2016) and a 3T MRI (GE to be replaced in 2017) ; the latter is shared with other departments and used for research.

There is also a scanner dedicated to emergencies.

Job profile

We are looking for 2 neuroradiologists:

- one with an interest in interventional neuroradiology but also able to contribute to the diagnostic service

- one purely diagnostic.

Activity

-Interventional Neuroradiology : aneurysms, AVMs, dural fistulas, thrombectomies, superficial vascular malformations, vertebroplasties…

Non resident on-call exclusively for Neuroradiology Intervention.

- Neuroradiology and ENT diagnostic imaging: CT scan , MRI

- We have an excellent collaboration with the clinical services (Neurosurgery, Neurology, ENT) and often hold interdepartmental meetings.

We offer extensive research opportunities and the candidate willing / able to to take part in teaching activities would be welcomed.

The advertised posts are full time , with permanent contracts after an initial fixed -term contract of 12 months.

Fluent French would be a bonus.
