43rd ESNR Annual Meeting

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to the 43rd ESNR Annual Meeting that will take place from the 1st to 4th October 2020, in Lisbon, at the Lisbon Congress Centre.

This Annual Meeting program will encompass the advanced courses and the congress. They have been designed to provide an innovative and comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, under the conference thematic: precision medicine. Many distinguished European and overseas neuroradiologists, neuroscience clinicians and scientists have joined the faculty and will take part in this conference.

One of the highlights of the Annual Meeting are the diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology advanced courses. For the first time, there will be joint sessions of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, during these advanced courses. These common sessions will be devoted to topics of interest for both areas. They will focus on the concepts of biomarkers, precision and value-based medicine and, finally, stroke. “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success” was the inspiration for the program of the joint sessions. We do strongly believe that from the cooperation of both areas, we will accomplish outstanding research and clinical standards.

The congress program will cover all the areas of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, with state of the art, review, and interactive sessions and will include joint sessions with other societies, such as the Americans Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) and Paediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR), and the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ESHNR).

Your contribution is essential for the conference scientific success! We look forward that you share your knowledge and research outcomes, submitting your papers for the scientific sessions.

We hope that you will enjoy this conference and that your interaction with your colleagues from many different countries will stimulate a creative exchange of ideas and will be personally rewarding.

We are also confident that you will enjoy your visit to our charming and exciting city of Lisbon. Lisbon is one of the oldest European cities with a unique identity and authenticity in which old customs and ancient history are intermingled with vivid modern cultural activities, art, museums and architecture. Take some extra time to explore the city highlights such as the historical monuments, the museums, and the unforgettable walks in the historical neighborhoods and don’t forgett to taste our local typical cuisine.

I look forward to seeing you in Lisbon!

Yours sincerely,

Pedro Vilela MD
