Changes in the ESNR EXCOM after the Annual General Assembly held on September 18, 2016 in Belgrade, Serbia.

· Àlex Rovira (Barcelona, Spain), new President

· Johan Van Goethem (Antwerp, Belgium) elected new Vice-President

· Cem Calli (Izmir, Turkey) elected new Treasurer

· Pedro Luis Ferro Vilela (Lisbon, Portugal) elected new Secretary of the Institutional Council

Prof. Àlex Rovira is the new President of ESNR. After serving as officer of the executive committee of the Society for more than 8 years, he became during the ESNR Annual Meeting that took place in Belgrade, the new president of ESNR after being elected as Vice-President two years ago. Àlex Rovira is Head of the Section of Neuroradiology at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona and Professor of Radiology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is specialised in diagnostic neuroradiology, and head and neck radiology, with particular interest in demyelinating diseases, stroke, neuro-oncology, hepatic encephalopathy, and head and neck tumors. Prof. Rovira has authored or co-authored more than 300 papers, 25 book chapters or monographs, and more than 420 invited conference presentations.

Prof. Johan Van Goethem, after having served the ESNR as Treasurer for 9 consecutive years, was elected as Vice-President of the European Society of Neuroradiology on September 18 at the ESNR General Assembly in Belgrade. Johan Van Goethem is Professor of Medical Imaging at Antwerp University, Belgium, Departmental Head at the Antwerp University Hospital and senior staff member at the General Hospital AZ Nikolaas, both in Belgium. Prof. Van Goethem is an active researcher in the field of neuro-imaging, especially spinal imaging, and he is author or co-author of over 100 manuscripts in neuroradiology. He also co-edited the book Spinal Imaging. He is a distinguished speaker and has delivered more than 300 invited presentations at different international meetings and courses.

Prof. Cem Calli

Prof. Cem Calli, serving as the Chair of the ESNR membership Committee, has been elected as the Treasurer of ESNR in the General Assembly which took place in Belgrade. Prof. Calli is the Head of Neuroradiology Section in the department of Radiology at Ege University Hospital. He has served as Executive Committee member at the European Society of Emergency Radiology (ESER), at Turkish Society of Radiology, and at Turkish Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and he is currently the Secretary General of Turkish Society of Neuroradiology. He is specialized in diagnostic neuroradiology, with particular interest in advanced imaging techniques. He gave more than 150 invited lectures in meetings and courses.

Dr. Pedro Vilela

Dr. Pedro Vilela has been elected as the Secretary of the ESNR Institutional Council. He is the current President of the Portuguese Society of Neuroradiology (SPNR), and he has served for six years at the Portuguese Medical Association as a member of the Neuroradiology College. Dr. Pedro Vilela is Head of the Neuroradiology Service at Hospital Beatriz Angelo, and is also senior consultant for Diagnostic and Interventional neuroradiology at the Hospital Garcia de Orta and Hospital da Luz.

Dr. Pedro Vilela has served as member of the Interventional Neuroradiology Committee of ESNR and as Chairman of the Membership Committee of ESNR. He is a distinguished speaker and has delivered several invited presentations at different international meetings and courses. Dr. Pedro Vilela´s main research interests include the vascular disorders with a special interest in brain perfusion and cerebrovascular reactivity.
